Plastic Pollution Education in Schools
Available “in-person” and online.
Educating to Engage & Empower
Our Plastic Pollution Education Program is designed to inspire a shift in culture around single-use plastic and waste in general.
Schools are a small community in and of themselves and are a microcosm of the broader community. Consistent feedback from school staff and parents confirm that students are increasingly influencing their family and are leading the change at home.
Many of our presentations, activities and events can also be carried out over online platforms like Zoom.
Plastic Pollution Education Program
The Plastic Pollution Education Program has evolved over many years, thanks to invaluable input from highly qualified and experienced school teachers, scientists, waste managers and community members.
We recognise every school is different with varying levels of knowledge, passion and engagement amongst students and staff on these issues.
This program can be adapted to suit various age groups and year levels incorporating a range of presentations, activities and events. Plastic Pollution Education is for students from Early Learning to Primary, Secondary school and through to Tertiary Education
The Australian Curriculum,
Early Learning Outcomes
& Quality Standards
Our Early Learning sessions link directly to certain Early Learning Years Outcomes and will help your service meet various areas of the National Quality Standards. Our Plastic Pollution Education Program for Primary & Secondary Schools links into and complements various subjects, strands and domains on the Australian Curriculum.
Educate – Engage – Empower
This is the cornerstone of our mission and is the basis for how we create and carry out our work. Imparting knowledge alone will not solve this problem.
Therefore our presentations and activities are designed to engage EVERY student despite their age, social background, or academic ability. We will aim to include and empower students with varying aptitudes, interests, and passions including STEM subjects, language, and the arts.
Educate
Knowledge & Enquiry
Before we can solve a problem we need to have a deep understanding of the problem itself, the scale, the causes, the impacts and the urgency.
Engage
Inspire a Call to Action
It’s vitally important to educate in a way that aims to ENGAGE every student in the room sparking a strong desire to be part of the solution.
Empower
Taking Action
Demonstrating how students can be part of the solution individually and collectively via new behaviours, routines, systems, procedures and through introduced projects and initiatives.
